GUITAR BACKING TRACKS

Here are a few backing tracks to play guitar along with. For practice and educational purposes only. Thanks to everyone who made these. Some are basic midi BTs, and some are pro BTs. Some are GXT (guitar extractions) files made from the original tracks, and some are made from the 5.1 surround sound or quad mixes of the songs, with guitar tracks turned off or extracted. Some parts may sound a bit muffled because it is often impossible to completely remove all of the guitar, but they are good for practice.

To download to your computer, you need a browser that lets you save audio files. For example, in Firefox, click on any song link on this page. An audio player bar in the middle of the screen should open to play the backing track. Let the track completely load, then click the pull down menu on the audio bar and select "save as source". Direct it to a location on your computer you wish to place the file. Some browsers may open Quicktime, or similar audio program to play sound files. Most of those also let you save the files to your computer after loading.

You may also want to browse karaoke-version.com. They have a selection of the top Pink Floyd songs, many with customizable mix levels for instrument and vocal tracks.
